Two beautiful rustic style holiday homes set in the spectacular Andalucian Mountains.

Fully equipped 1 and 2 bedroom houses with swimming pool. Both very private and peaceful, the perfect place to relax.Comares is a curiosity, a delightful little village perched atop a lone hill and visible from miles around. It was the “Taha”, or country town, in Moorish times. Comares is typically Andalucian, It’s a 5 minute drive from the property, a stunning white washed little village in fact the highest in the whole of the Axarquia region with a relaxed attitude to life. Village shops will cater for your every day needs, there are several bars serving good tapas, meals and local wine. You will also find a bank, pharmacy, post office, tobacconist and breath taking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

A little below the hilltop is the Hamlet of Los Ventorros and the beautiful property Casa Vieja. Casa Vieja is located within just a 5 minute walk of Los Ventorros where you will find 2 bars, perfect for meals and refreshments and a interesting little shop which sells organic foods and Spanish art and crafts.

Travel

Malaga Airport is a 50 minute drive approx and Granada airport a 1 hour 30 minute drive. A car is essential to enjoy the area fully. Car hire is easy and inexpensive, we have a membership with a local company which enables you to receive a 15% discount. Several budget airlines operate to and from Malaga and Granada. A daily bus service runs from Los Ventorros to Malaga City.

Golf

There are 3 Golf courses within an hours drive, Baviera 18 hole public course being the closest at just a 30 minute drive.

Coast/ Beach

The Mediterranean coast is a 35 minute drive through spectacular scenery passing groves of avocados and citrus trees. Torree Del Mar has a long sandy beach with many beach bars/restaurants right on the sand. Here and at Velez Malaga, the nearest market town, you will find all types of eateries, bike hire, Go-Kart's, a water park, and the fishing harbor and mariane at Caleta De Velez.

Exploring Andalucia

Casa Vieja makes the perfect base for visiting the most popular sights. Granada and the Ahlambra Palace are just over an hour away, (prior booking is advised). The Sierra Nervada ski resort is a short drive from the city of Granada. Seville is well worth a visit at around a 2 hour drive. Cordoba is a similar drive and Malaga is a city of culture, beaches and great shopping at just 1 hour away. Nerja and its famous caves is a great family day of entertainment.

Distances

Los Ventorros Village – 5 minute walk, Comares- 5 minute drive or a healthy uphill 30 minute walk,
Torree Del Mar – 45 minute drive, here you will find a big shopping center, open Mon- Sat 10 am to 10pm.
Riogordo and Colmenar are approx 30 min's by car Nerja and caves – 1 hour drive max Marbella 90 minute drive.

Lake Vinuela

is a magnificent turquoise lake where you will find great restaurants to sit and enjoy this amazing scenery.

The Meseta de MazMullar Remains

For those who enjoy walking, within just a few meters of Casa Vieja you will find the remains of streets, houses, and an old water reservoir built by the Moors and declared a National Monument back in 1931.

We have table tennis for the energetic and a telescope, the stars are amazing and well worth a look!! There are a variety of books and games to choose from.

Spring Time

The landscape is awash with beautiful wild flowers and almond blossom, making it the perfect time for walking.

Fiestas

Summer time is a great time to experience some real Spanish parties!! (fiestas) Not to be missed!

Special Occassions

For any speacial occassions we have a local aerodrome where you can take a scenic flight over the magnificent landscape.

Water

We recommend our guests to drink bottled water which can be purchased locally and cheaply.

Are available weekly. Both properties have hair dryers.

Medical

The nearest 24 hour medical center is in a little village called benamargosa approx 25 min's from Casa Vieja. The nearest hospital is in Torree De Mar where you can receive free medical treatment with your E1 11 card.

Welcome pack

A welcome pack including, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, beer wine, olive oil
And water await your arrival. lf you arrive late on the Saturday we do recommend you bring some basic provisions with you for breakfast the following morning as most supermarkets are closed until Monday.

The swimming pool

is open from April to October and is shared when our other property is occupied. The pool is gated and has steps leading into the shallow end. Both properties are approached down a short driveway with private parking space and are both very private.
